Paul Bramwell is senior vice president of treasury solutions for SunGard’s AvantGard and is based in Hartford, Connecticut. He has spent over 20 years in treasury management in many companies such as National Power, British Gas & Allied Domecq, where he was responsible for a range of activities including cash management, currency hedging and interest rate risk management. Paul joined SunGard in 2000, working with their premier treasury solutions and subsequently moved to the US from London in 2003. Paul has worked with many different companies on solutions for every aspect of treasury and risk management from a global perspective.
Commentary
Treasurers today are balancing the more traditional tasks of managing cash, handling foreign exchange and short-term debt, and investment management, while also facing an increased demand to manage capital market activities, M&A activity and insurance and pension programs. They often are also responsible for credit and receivables management and working capital as a whole.
Treasury workstations and risk and cash management solutions can help companies meet these challenges by delivering enabling technology that facilitates integration, automation, visibility and collaboration while also helping to manage risk, maximize liquidity and drive growth.
Paul believes that treasury management systems play a key role in the financial cash supply chain by enabling corporations to drive free cash flow in a predictable fashion, improve data quality and transparency and reduce cost.
