SunGard Aligns Public Sector Business By Customers Served

SunGard has reorganized its Public Sector business to align with the three principal areas it serves – local government, K-12 education, and central and federal government agencies. Operations will be streamlined to provide a wider range of products and services that fit the unique needs of customers in each space.
In the U.S., SunGard Public Sector will reorganize into two business units: Local Government and K-12 Education. The Local Government business unit will focus on providing public administration and public safety and justice solutions to cities and counties as well as not-for-profit organizations and select services to federal government agencies. The K-12 Education business unit will focus on SunGard Public Sector’s solutions for school districts including student administration, financial suites and instructional support. The UK business unit will continue to focus on UK central government solutions as well as local government and public safety opportunities in the UK and globally. All business units will operate under the SunGard Public Sector brand.
