SunGard Announces Gloucestershire Constabulary as First English Customer to Go Live with Fully Integrated UNIFI
February 19, 2009 — London, UK
SunGard today announced the go-live of its UNIFI enhanced records management system at Gloucestershire Constabulary. The cutover from the force’s existing SunGard system was managed without incident. SunGard is the only UK based supplier to have a fully integrated back-office system live with an English force. Gloucestershire is using the UNIFI system, not only for Crime Recording and Intelligence, but also Custody, Case Preparation (including Road Traffic Collisions), Tape Management, Wanted/Warrants Process, Enquiry and HORT/VDRS, to form a fully integrated back-office system. Gloucestershire will soon go-live with the Magistrates Court’s Libra interface and has started testing the Crown Prosecution Service CMS interface, both of which will integrate with the SunGard UNIFI solution.
UNIFI is a suite of integrated modules within a single application covering an array of police business processes, from crime, intelligence, custody and case preparation through to the management of driving document productions, vehicle defect rectifications, and road traffic collisions. Built upon a single database, UNIFI requires no interfacing between its own modules, which streamlines the technical solution and helps minimise support and maintenance. The system provides a variety of consistent business processes across the force, whilst offering flexibility that helps police workers increase efficiency and provide better service to the community.
Mick Matthews, ACC Operations with Gloucestershire Constabulary said, “We are delighted with the implementation of UNIFI which provides a fully integrated solution to the force for the next 10 years. We were committed to the development of this product, having realised the significant benefits that its predecessor system Unity brought to the force. I consider that this places Gloucestershire at the forefront of technology development which will continue to ensure that the best capability is provided to our people, and through them to our
communities.”
SunGard Public Sector’s justice and security director, Paul Jobbins, said, “I am pleased that, with joint collaboration, Gloucestershire Constabulary now has a solution that will provide their workers and their communities with efficient results and benefits.”
